Trends and Style 101
You have been thinking about remodeling your home. Well, maybe now is the perfect time as it is the start of a new decade. After 10 years of the same old ideas, the heart of your home is due for a brand new look. New paint, ideas for your kitchen, or even reimagining other rooms, we can help you incorporate new trends or augment your existing themes. Whether you love the new on-trend ideas or prefer to go with classic elegance, we can help you with ideas you’ll appreciate now and in the future.
Back to the Future
We are seeing more vintage and traditional detailing than previous style trends. Spooled legs, spindles, and such that were used in the 1800s and early 1900s are making a comeback. By incorporating one or two of these period pieces, we can really add visual interest and sophistication to your home.
The 2020 Pantone Colour of the year is Classic Blue. This trend will push lots of colour in the new year. We love this colour for it’s versatility and sophistication.
Colors
By adding a touch of this to either traditional or modern home styles, it will add a dramatic new contrasting look especially accented with white trim and woodwork. Picking the perfect wallpaper for your foyer or powder room may be just the accent you need to add flare to your home.
Bold colors and metallic versions are here to stay. Contrasting tones are what we see moving into this decade. Where everything was white, the new trend is to add contrasting themes. White walls with black trims for example. You’ll see this trending in fine furniture pieces as well with white fabric accented with contrasting black legs.
In the kitchen where the 2010s focused on all white cabinets, you’ll begin to see colors and even more natural woods to add interest. Whatever your inspiration, our design staff will work to reveal your tastes and bring excitement and enjoyment back to your home.
